How do I become a tenant?

1. Ring the office on (02) 9637 9511. We will tell you if we have a vacancy at the service and we can discuss if this is the best service for you.

2. We will arrange for an interview with you at the office. During the interview we will discuss your needs and what we can offer you. You will be asked to provide some information about yourself and we can answer any questions you may have.

3. If the interview is successful we will arrange a dinner night for you and the other tenants that will be living with you.

4. If the dinner night is successful we will arrange a sleepover for you at the house.

5. If the sleepover is successful and you are happy to live in the house then we will sign a Residential Tenancy Agreement with you.

What does WHY expect of its tenants?

1. Most importantly, you are expected to sign a standard rental lease which is a legal contract between you and WHY. The lease outlines the rights and responsibilities of both you as the tenant and WHY as the housing provider.

2. You will be expected to be able to live independently and pay your rent every 2 weeks.

3. You will be expected to live in a house with 1, 2 or 3 other young people and take equal responsibility for the house.

4. You will be expected to attend fortnightly house meetings with the other tenants and staff.
